Over the past twenty years, my work with the Vancouver Island Health Authority (VIHA) has taken me in various directions – as a case manager, a therapist at an urgent, outpatient psychiatric clinic, acting coordinator, and as part of the Integrated Mobile Crisis Response Team (IMCRT).
Between 2013 – 2019 I conducted assessments and treatment plans in conjunction with the local fire departments for individuals who engage in cluttering and hoarding behaviours.
I also take pride in maintaining a small private/consultant practice where I work with couples, families and individuals.
I worked as an instructor in the Graduate Centre for Applied Psychology through Athabasca University from 2013-to 2019 and accepted the role of tenure-track assistant professor in 2020. At present, my research focuses on the stigma attached to the lived experiences of hoarding disorder.
I choose to work within a relational-building approach that stresses a down-to-earth connection between therapist and client. I believe that unless there is trust and safety in the relationship, change is not easily achieved.
Sessions are jargon-free and avoid the top-down expert status found in many healthcare initiatives. While I am not a medical doctor, as I spent many years working in psychiatric outpatient clinics, I am comfortable working with clients who present with serious mental health issues.
Whether you prefer single-session, ongoing, or book in when you have a need, I can accommodate.

I offer appointments ranging from 30 to 90 minutes. To book a session, please contact me:
