I would like to introduce myself, I am Wendy MacKay, and I obtained a diploma in nursing from the Saint John School of Nursing in 1972 before moving to Victoria.
Upon arriving, I began a long career in psychiatry as a nurse at Eric Martin Hospital and then transferred into the group psychotherapy program.
In the 1990’s I completed a B.S.N . at the University of Victoria while continuing to work in Mental Health as an individual therapist in the Urgent Clinic which eventually became USTAT. I worked there until 2018.
I am pleased to be associated with Metanoia Counselling and Wellness Hub and will see clients dealing with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem as well as grief and loss.
I believe we all can benefit from having a safe and confidential place to come and be listened to and sometimes friends and family are not enough. I offer a respectful, professional approach known as interpersonal therapy.
I will see people on Sundays and Mondays at my office in Victoria or I will be available for phone therapy if you are not vaccinated or prefer more distancing during the pandemic.
My hourly fee is $125.00 , not covered by insurance companies.
